'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Weather is Snow Joke for Blades Boss

With winter arriving early in South Yorkshire, Sheffield United have been forced indoors to battle against the elements.

Blades boss Gary Speed has praised United`s facilities at Shirecliffe, which has been getting excessive use due to the recent weather conditions. However, with injuries for Speed`s team already prominent, the Bramall Lane surface has been made available for training also.

'We are very fortunate to have the indoor area to work in but some players don't get on properly with too much work on that surface, so a few have been down at the Lane where the pitch has been cleared - and we have a very understanding groundsman!

Despite the facilities available to United, the conditions are far from ideal, as Speed attempts to bounce back from Saturday`s humiliation at Bristol City.

'The conditions are unfortunate because we need to prepare properly for Reading on Saturday.
