Evans jailed for five-years

The trial of Sheffield United's star striker Ched Evans, and his co-defendant Clayton McDonald, has ended with The Blades striker sentenced to five-years imprisonment.

Following the court case Evans was found guilty of raping a teenage woman last May while his friend, and Port Vale player, McDonald was found not guilty.

Again I say this is a sensitive case so THINK carefully before you make comments on this.

I'm a Wednesday supporter, but I've not come here to gloat or complain that Evans shouldn't have been playing this season and helping you to promotion. It's innocent until proved guilty - so it was appropriate that he was in the team. It's bigger than points and promotions this - I feel sorry that a young, talented guy has messed up his life; I feel sorry for his fans especially the kids; Mostly, I feel sad for his victim.

As a Wednesday fan i must say what a waste of talent and i feel sorry for his victim and all the United youths who looked upto this guy.But at present he is labled as a Scum bag and United will sack him.

The record will show the pigs won promotion on the back of goals scored by a convicted rapist, fact, and not summat to celebrate.

m_o i dont really see why you had to come on and make an immature comment like that. everyone knows the situation, stop trying for pathetic points scoring.
