Clough - Money-spinner will aid transfer budget

Sheffield United boss Nigel Clough says he will be watching the draw with interest when the FA Cup Third Round is drawn later this afternoon.

United booked their place in the third round with a 2-0 win at Cambridge and Clough is hoping for a big money spinner or a winnable home tie.

Speaking on BT Sport, Clough said, "We can hopefully make a few quid, which would make a huge difference in January because we want to do some business.

"We don`t mind who we get. A winnable game at home would be ideal or one of the big boys away and we can make a few quid."


Clough will not have to wait long to find out who they will face in the competition with the draw being made on both BT Sport and ITV 1 at approximately 4pm.

Sheffield United will be ball number 45 when the draw is made.

I think that comment is for the media, I'm sure the funds are already there for January. Not many days back NC said he wasn't planning much action in the market in January, its all about playing down the clubs financial position to avoid inflated fees.
