SUFC Baxter to bash former club on Boxing Day?

Sheffield United will be hoping to start the festive period with a win when fellow strugglers Oldham Athletic visit Bramall Lane this afternoon.

The two sides are separated by just one point and the blades know a win would lift them above their Lancashire opponents.

SkyBet make United 21/20 favourites to claim the three points and make it seven games unbeaten, Oldham are 13/5 and it is 12/5 on the draw.

Jose Baxter is in good form for the blades having netting in two of the last three games and he will be hoping to continue that form against his former club this afternoon. Baxter scored 17 times for Oldham in just over a season at Boundary Park and he is 5/1 to score the opener this afternoon.

Shaun Miller is still waiting for his first blades goal after returning from a long-term injury. Miller suffered a cruciate knee ligament injury twelve months ago today and he will be hoping for a better Boxing Day this time around.

Miller is 13/2 to score the first goal today.

Adam Rooney has netted seven times for Oldham so far this season and they will be hoping the striker can continue that form and help pull them away from the relegation zone. Rooney is 13/2 to score the first goal today.

Former blades striker Daniel Philliskirk is now with Oldham. Philliskirk failed to score in an handful of appearances during his time at Bramall Lane and he is 7/1 to open the scoring today.
