Harrison Signs Two Year Deal
Sheffield United have today signed former Blackpool defender Harrison McGahey.
The 18 year old has joined the club on a two year deal, with an options for a third, and although one for the future, it's hoped he will provide added competition to our first team competition this season.
Speaking to the Official Site manager Nigel Clough explained that a number of the coaching staff were watching him at the end of last season having identified the potential he could carry, so that's what United see in him.
'He will admit he's not the finished article, but we are delighted that he has chosen to join us to aid his development. Harrison is a big strong defender and there are a number of similar characters at Bramall Lane, from whom he can learn his trade.'
McGahey joined Blackpool following spells with Blackburn Rovers and Liverpool, and he made his competitive debut for the Seasiders at Bloomfield Road last season, and before the campaign ended he had notched up four appearances as they avoided relegation.
The fee for the player will be set by a tribunal owing to his age as the two clubs couldn't reach an agreement.
