Some Decent Signings So Far

Some Decent Signings So Far

I was over the moon when we grabbed promotion from League One at last. To do that with one-hundred points was a fitting end to an amazing season.

My last match was the Bolton match at BDTBL, but managed to watch us against Bradford on BFBS TV here at sea.

I, like many others, have renewed my season ticket for next season, which I reckon will be a corker, especially with being able to grab six points off Wednesday. I`m really looking forward to being back at the derby games, and so is my lad, who hasn`t experienced one yet.

During the close season we`ve made a few decent signings, obviously CW has had his eye on a few players over the last campaign, and he has a good eye for talent to see us through the Championship campaign. We see the likes of Stevens, Baldock, Thomas and the return of Ched Evans come to the Lane, and also talks of interest in retaining the services of EEL. Some of the old guard have left though, even a fan`s favourites in Scougall and McNulty.

I`m a bit surprised we never went through with trying to get O`Shea though; he was on loan and out of contract at Chesterfield, so thought we might have made a good steal with him.

I`ll be missing the first match of the season as I`m doing a longer appointment at sea so that I can get my children`s birthdays off this year, but will be home mid-August. I`ll be off for a good chunk of the season as well, so will be able to get to most of the games. The first one for me will be the Barnsley game, easy three points there for us I reckon!

Everyone has high hopes for us this season, and with CW at the helm I`m sure we can give this Championship a shot, cause upsets along the way and get a decent place at the end of the next season. I saw the crowds at the Lane increase towards the end of the season, so I hope the fans that came and saw us get promoted can keep coming to the Lane this season and pushing the team on with their support.

Can`t wait for the season to start!!
