Can We Regain Top Spot

Can We Regain Top Spot

I`m not making the short journey down to Burton this evening so will be glued to BBC Radio Sheffield to listen to Keith Edwards commentating on the game. It seems ages since the 4-1 win over Hull, not keen on these international breaks. Mind you at least I had a footy match to watch last weekend when I watched my lads` team beat a Mansfield team 3-0 away from home. Same again this weekend where he`s at home vs Walesby Juniors U16s. At least I`m still getting my football fix in on a weekend during these breaks.

I`m hoping we can grab a result this evening away from home, Leon seems to be unstoppable at the moment and looking at Burton`s previous four games, they`ve won one (against Milwall) and lost three. Looking at Wolves, who are leading the table at the moment, they are away at Reading, so I`m hoping Reading will do us a favour and get one over on them tomorrow. That would put us a point clear at the top of the table.

Burton look like they`ll be without Brayford, who`s out injured, so at least he won`t have a point to prove against us.

The question is will Wilder stick with Simon Moore or let Blackman back in as number one? I`d stick with Moore to be honest. Blackman is a good keeper but still young and made a few mistakes. Nothing too major (apart from the QPR loss), but to be fair he`s not had too much to do with the team performing as we have during his time at the Lane. We play good attacking football and he`s not had many stops to make from pressure.

I`ve only got a couple more matches to get to now. I`ve got the home games against Fulham and Birmingham that I`ll be able to get to, as work have called me back a month early to go back to sea. I`m a bit gutted as I`ll be missing out on the January derby match, as well as a decent Xmas period of being back on my seat on the Kop at BDTBL. That means the missus will have to take my lad instead of me. I can`t believe work gets in the way of footy season!! I can`t believe how fast this leave period has gone, plus I`ve not managed to get to an executive committee meeting this time. I`ll have to try harder next leave (sorry Trev!)

Anyway, hope everyone has a safe journey down to the Pirelli this evening and fingers crossed for another three points to add to our tally!
