Officials - Norwich v Sheffield United (20/1/18)

The Football League have now announced the Match Day officials that will take charge of the game between Norwich City and Sheffield United this Saturday.

Norwich City host Sheffield United on Saturday January 20 for the game at Carrow Road and the match carries a 3pm kick off.

Referee: Tony Harrington
Assistant Refs: Geoffrey Russell and Darren Blunden
Fourth Official: John Brooks

Match Day referee Harrington has officiated 22 games in 2017/18, showing 78 yellow cards and three red cards so far.

He took in 34 games in 2016/17, with a return of 121 yellow cards and four red cards.

That year his highest card count was nine yellows in the game between Reading and Sheffield Wednesday.

He took charge of 30 matches in 2015/16 and in those games, across all competitions and football divisions, he handed out a total of 72 yellow cards and three red cards.

He was most card happy in the match between Fulham and Blackburn on September 13 with a total of five yellows being shown. He also showed five yellows in the Barnsley v Port Vale game on November 14. On December 5 he showed four yellows and one red in the Bolton v Cardiff game.

Harrington began refereeing in the Teesside Junior Football Alliance at the age of 14, having completed a basic refereeing course whilst at school as part of the Duke of Edinburgh award. After four years as an EFL assistant referee and four years as a National League referee, he was appointed to the EFL Referees List in 2012/13 and has now overseen more than 100 EFL matches.

Let`s hope it`s not another repeat and more of the players edge closer to automatic bans.
