Jake's Wright To Be Disappointed With Leicester Loss

With the players back in training and preparing for tonight's clash with Queens Park Rangers, Jake Wright has spoken of his disappointment at the loss to Leicester City last Friday.

Heading to the King Power Stadium for the FA Cup fifth round tie, United lost out narrowly one nil on the day to a solitary Jamie Vardy strike and speaking to the Official Site as he met with the media to give his thoughts on Friday night's action, Wright admitted that the players were down in the dressing room as there was a palpable feeling of frustration at the full time whistle.

With United having two or three good chances that we'd have expected to have done better with, he explained.

'We're disappointed that we lost the tie, obviously Leicester are a top-quality side and they went very strong on the night, playing pretty much their strongest team. First-half we had a couple of chances and second-half we had some really good chances, enough to get something from the game.'

Wright went on to say that he felt our defensive performance had been strong as we did limit their chances as well, but in playing so well and knowing the result could've been different, that only led to greater frustration following the match.

'They had lots of possession but not too much in really dangerous areas. The game plan worked really well and although we should be proud of our performance, we are disappointed to have lost by a single goal. We're working really hard to try and achieve experience this kind of game every week.'

He added.

'We've proved what we're capable of, we're just disappointed with the goal, it's a cross and a header, it's not like we've been carved open and we dealt with plenty of similar balls throughout the game. We take pride in the fact that we stayed in the game until the final whistle, we pushed and pushed and just couldn't find that elusive goal.'

On to QPR now and hopefully a win to lift spirits once again and put that one behind us.
