Battle Of The Gaffers - Fulham v Sheffield United
Following today's clash between Fulham and Sheffield United, here are the instant reactions from both managers.
Fulham hosted Barnsley at Craven Cottage on Tuesday March 6, with the hosts taking a comfortable three nil victory.
Aleksandar Mitrovic scored a first half brace to give Fulham the advantage and Tom Cairney confirmed the three points with a goal just after the hour mark.
Fulham's form continues, but Sheffield United slip to a fourth defeat in their last seven so many will think their outside hopes of a Play Off spot are now completely over.
Bettinelli, Fredericks, Odoi, Ream, Targett, Cairney, McDonald, Johansen (Norwood 65), Ojo (Piazon 59), Mitrovic (Fonte 87), R Sessegnon.
Ayite, Christie, Norman, Kamara.
Blackman, Basham (Brooks 45), Stearman, O'Connell, Baldock, Evans, Duffy, Fleck, Stevens, Donaldson (Evans 64), Sharp (Holmes 65).
Moore, Lundstram, Leonard, Lafferty.
Speaking to the BBC's cameras a short time after match day referee Keith Stoud blew the final whistle, Fulham gaffer Slavisa Jokanovic explained.
'He (Mitrovic) is a quality player, he has started well with us. He is a proper striker that we have been looking for. We are fourth in the Championship, we are playing with confidence, we know we can beat all teams in the division. We have to be mentally strong and push hard for the next step. It's important we keep winning the games and the stats are less important.'
Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder in his comparative interview explained.
'Mitrovic is an outstanding player and thankfully we won't be coming up against him in the next 11 games. He's going to the World Cup, Newcastle paid what for him? £15m? He should be playing in the Premier League. We were well beaten in the end. It is no disgrace getting beaten to a team bang in form, a team that has won every game at home since the start of November. I'd rather be here on a Tuesday night in London than being somewhere else in another league like we have been for the last six years.'
