Sheffield United saw their play-off hopes dented in a cruel defeat at Swindon Town.

Swindon won the game 2-1 thanks to a goal in the final minutes just moments after Conor Coady had seen his header fantastically saved at the other end by Wes Foderingham.

Louis Thompson scored the winner for Swindon after a swift break from the Foderingham save.

Swindon had led at half time, Miles Storey giving the home side the lead. Foderingham was in fine form for Swindon all afternoon and he produced a stunning first half save to deny John Brayford.

The blades equalised in the second half when Michael Doyle was on hand to score at the far post but their hearts were to be broken with the late winner.

We were mugged, big time. Credit to NC and the players for going all out for the win, Davies took the free kick in the 90th minute but was then out of position when the ball was hacked clear and caught defenders out of position and scrambling back. In normal circumstances we would have parked the bus in the last ten minutes and come away with the point, but being a bit too adventurous simply caught us out. United totally dominated the second half and but for their keeper playing out of his skin, would have won comfortably. Swindon were another team, like Wolves, who unashamedly hacked United players down to stop the momentum building. Swindon play at a walking pace and were determined not to let United play on one of the worst playing surfaces I have seen this season. We were disappointed not to come away with at least the point, but pleased with the overall performance and the attacking play right to the end. All thats missing is a twenty goal striker now.
