Blades and Orient share the points

Sheffield United
1 - 1
Leyton Orient

Bramall Lane

05/04/14 3pm

Attendance: 16,809

Referee:

Sheffield United and Leyton Orient shared the points at Bramall Lane in a 1-1 draw.

Dean Cox fired the visitors ahead with a well-executed finish just before the break.

Sheffield United levelled just past the hour when Jamie Murphy got in behind the Orient defence before rounding the keeper and firing home.

The draw did little for either club as their own personal hopes of automatic promotion and the play-offs were dealt another blow.

I expected a draw. No good for either team. Safety assured they can now concentrate on the fa cup and building for next season

Played in second gear in the first half, no one wanted to take responsibility or chance an injury. NC obviously had a word and second half was much better. Some lovely pass and move, with a goal scoring striker (or two) we would have won it easily. Orient are like most of the (few) decent teams in this division, well organised but with little to get excited about. Did Howard have a shot to save? Michael Doyle again MOTM by a mile, though Murphy will take the eye for his goal and general threat. I expect a great many changes on Tuesday, shame, with a full blooded derby it would have been good to see how far we have progressed under NC.
