FA Cup - QPR 0-3 Sheffield Utd
Sheffield United amazing record in cup competitions in the past 18-months or so continued on Sunday afternoon as we caused another FA Cup upset by knocking out Premier League outfit QPR.
Harry Redknapp's side, which might have seen changes made, still have plenty of topflight and international experience about it, but we swept them aside with a comfortable and deserved three-nil win at Loftus Road to ease into the fourth round.
QPR started well enough with Fer and Mutch forcing Howard into saves but all in all it was us that dominated the opening half, you wouldn't have known we were the league 1 side and QPR the Premier League side otherwise, with the breakthrough coming 10-minutes before half time - Reed put in McNulty (36) and he made no mistake in beating QPR 'keeper McCarthy to make it one-nil.
Shortly after the break Reed was involved again as his ball into the box caused problems, eventually falling to Campbell-Ryce (49) who forced the ball home to give us some breathing space.
Phillips, Zamora and Fer all had, and missed, great chances for QPR with not too many of these chances actually hitting the target with a three-nil win rounded off in injury-time when a wayward Fer header was collected by Campbell-Ryce (90+4) who twisted and turned before firing him his second.
We made it to the semi finals of the FA Cup last season, beating Aston Villa and Fulham along the way, and start this season's competition (with the topflight sides in it) beating another, who have now won only two FA Cup ties in the past 11-years and not made it out of the third round without a replay in 18-years!
We've already beaten Southampton and West Ham on our way to the semi finals of the League Cup too as our cup exploits continue....
